Red Bull was in a massive state of turmoil following allegations of inappropriate behavior against Christian Horner . Despite the independent investigation from Red Bull clearing the team principal, multiple additions to the case emerged. Additionally, the intensity of the case rose to such a level that Adrian Newey left the team allegedly due to the soured relationships. Now, another shocking revelation regarding Red Bull’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff positive words for Horner has surfaced.

Adrian Newey‘s exit from Red Bull shocked many in the paddock, especially the Red Bull crew. The 65-year-old led the team to monumental success in multiple years in the past. The reason behind the shocking departure might be Christian Horner‘s investigation saga. However, despite the turmoil, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff applauded and praised Horner. The German believed that the team could still be successful under the Briton’s leadership despite the issues. The Red Bull team boss is also the CEO of Red Bull Racing.

If we can still be successful with him? I am convinced of this. Just think about winning with the team and he's an excellent CEO. Oliver Mintzlaff said, as reported by formulapassion.it.

However, according to F1-insider.com, it has been revealed that Mintzlaff was potentially forced to say good words to the boss. If the German were to not follow the orders, he would’ve risked his position at Red Bull for the coming season and onwards. Hence, the 48-year-old falsely praised Christian Horner for his leadership despite the evident struggles.

David Croft claims Formula 1 will witness more moments of Red Bull defeat in the 2024 season

Red Bull has already lost two races this season despite a showing dominant pace this year. David Croft highlighted McLaren’s impressive performance at the Miami GP which saw Lando Norris take home his maiden victory. Hence, speaking on Red Bull’s updates, Crofty reckoned that they were seemingly working on the track.

Two out of six races have not been won by Red Bull, We’re seeing McLaren come to the fore with the upgrades they’ve brought here and continuing that challenge. Taking it to Red Bull, upgrades seemingly work at the track. Oscar will have those upgrades in full next time out. David Croft said, as reported by crash.net.

Additionally, Croft mentioned that Red Bull sacrificed qualifying speed to help improve race pace. However, other teams were also constantly making gains against Milton Keynes. David Croft recalled Norris’ comments about being the fifth-fastest team on the grid. Although this sounded bizarre, McLaren was just two-tenths behind. Hence, Crofty reckoned that such moments of Red Bull losing out to rivals would happen again in the 2024 season.

Red Bull have sacrificed a little bit of qualifying speed to help their race pace as well. As Lando said before the race, we’re fifth on the grid which sounds rubbish but we’re two tenths behind. That’s the key. They’ve closed that time gap. We will see more moments like this this year compared to last year. David Croft noted.

Max Verstappen continues to perform at the pinnacle of his career alongside Red Bull’s dominant RB20 chassis. The 2024 season has already showcased the rivals closing in on the Dutchman. Hence, the 26-year-old will have to work extra hard to score race wins down the season. As things are, the three-time world champion would likely score yet another rampant championship victory.
