Cleveland Browns’ 2024 NFL Schedule: Release date, opponents, biggest games, and predictions
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The thick of the NFL offseason is in the rearview mirror for the Cleveland Browns with the NFL Draft just wrapping up. Free agency is over in terms of it being a frenzy with several players left to find homes still. Cleveland is now focused on rounding out their roster heading into OTAs and before training camp is here in July.

One of the dinner off-season dates to talk about is the NFL schedule release date. It is a day we all get together and predict how teams will do for that given season. Cleveland already knows who they will play in 2024, but they’ll soon know what order that’ll happen.

Everything there is to know about the 2024 schedule for the Browns will be found below.

Browns' Schedule Release Date

The NFL has already hinted that the schedules will be released in May, but there is no exact date right now. Based on the last couple of years, however, it should come out around the middle of May, as it was released on May 12, 2022, and May 11, 2023.

Come back to this post when the schedule releases to find the full thing.

Home and Away Opponents

Games played at the Cleveland Browns stadium: Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins

Away games: Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints

Biggest Games on the Browns' 2024 Schedule

Every AFC North game: The division was strong last year and it is going to be even stronger in 2024 with teams getting healthy at quarterback. All four teams will be in the hunt for the playoffs and each game will mean a lot. Chiefs at Browns: Cleveland knows they have a roster that can make the playoffs. If they want to test just how good they are and if they can complete, there is no better-measuring stick than Patrick Mahomes and the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. Browns at Eagles: Cleveland struggled on the road last year, so going to Philadelphia is going to be a great task. A team they’ve had joint practices with the e last two years, now they’ll finally play them in the real thing.

Predicting Primetime Matchups and Week 1/Week 18 Opponents

Which games will be primetime viewing?

Between the different primetime times there are on the schedule, I see the Browns getting three to four prime-time games. Cleveland will get a Monday Night Football game and a Thursday Night Football game surely. At least one of those will be against a divisional opponent. Additionally, I could see Cleveland playing either the Cowboys, Dolphins, or Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Who are the Week 1 and Week 18 opponents?

It was thought that the Cleveland Browns would be taking a trip to Brazil to play the Ohiladpejia Eagles, but that is not happening as the NFL selected the Green Bay Packers to do so in Week 1. The Browns very well could play a divisional team again to open the season in 2024, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. To make the most sense, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end the season against the Baltimore Ravens. Last year it was the Cincinnati Bengals and it could again be another team that will be fighting for a spot in the postseason.

Strength of Schedule (based off Vegas win totals, not the 2023 record)

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis has the best model for strength of schedule because they go off of the Vegas odds, which show the offseason impact that each team has and how people hire them. At the time of publishing, the odds are off of forecasted win totals for the 2024 season Sharp has the Browns' SOS the No. 30 spot in the NFL:
