Veteran right-hander Tyler Clippard took to Instagram yesterday to announce his retirement from professional baseball.
The pitcher once known as the "Yankee Clippard" is officially hanging up his cleats after carving out a productive MLB career which included two All-Star teams and a World Series ring.
Clippard made four appearances with Washington, posting a 7.20 ERA.
The move frees an active roster spot for Erick Fedde, who is back from the 15-day injured list.
